So im 26 and basically all my bikes are older than me lol. Currently running a 78 CB750 I picked up for 800 bucks that was sitting in a barn for like 12 years. Took me 3 months to get it running but man when that thing fired up for the first time I literally yelled in my garage at 11pm, neighbors probably thought I was nuts.
Anyway the thing I keep noticing is whenever I go to swap meets or vintage bike shows im usually the youngest guy there by like 30 years. Not complaining, the old timers are awesome and have taught me tons (shoutout to Gary who showed me how to sync carbs with a homemade manometer). But where are all the younger riders at? Is it just that new bikes are easier and cheaper to finance? I get it, my daily is a used SV650 because I cant trust the Honda yet lol.
Just curious if theres more of us out there or if im really the last young guy keeping points ignition alive. What got you into old bikes if you are?
