Finally got the old CB750 running right after the pod filter swap - MotoMike - 09-28-2026 So I know everyone says pods are a pain and to just keep the airbox but I couldn't resist. Picked up a set of K&N style filters off marketplace for 40 bucks and figured worst case I sell em on. Man, what a rabbit hole. Took me three weekends of jetting to get it sorted. Started with 120 mains, way too rich, fouled a set of plugs in like 20 miles. Dropped to 110, better but still bogging mid range. Ended up at 105 mains with the needle shimmed up one clip and mixture screws out 2.5 turns. Runs like a scalded cat now. Biggest lesson learned, sync those carbs BEFORE you start chasing jetting. I wasted a whole day blaming the mains when my #2 and #3 were way off. Anyway if anyone's on the fence about pods, its doable but bring your patience and a good plug reading guide. Next up is a 4 into 1 exhaust. Anyone running one on a sohc with stock cams? Curious what jetting you landed on. |
