Anyone messed with gear ratios on a 600 for street riding? - moto Expert - 10-08-2026

So I've been wrenching on bikes for a long time and I finally got around to playing with sprockets on my old CBR600. Went down one tooth in the front and it completely changed the character of the bike. Feels way punchier in the low end, wheelies come up way easier, and honestly it's just more fun around town. But now highway cruising has it screaming at like 7k at 80 which gets old after an hour.
Curious what you guys run for a mostly street bike that still sees some highway. Thinking about going back to stock front and just adding a couple teeth in the rear to split the difference. Anyone found a sweet spot they like? Also worth mentioning I had to adjust the chain and the speedo is now reading a bit off, nothing a speedo healer can't fix but just a heads up for anyone thinking about doing this. Let me know what ratios you're running and why.
