Finally took the old CB out after the winter rebuild, forgot how good it feels - MotoMike - 10-09-2026 So I spent the last four months in the garage bringing my 78 CB750 back to life. New gaskets, rebuilt carbs, fresh tires, the whole nine yards. First real ride today, just a short loop to shake everything down, and man I forgot how much fun this thing is. Fired up on the third kick which never happens. Took it easy at first, just listening for anything weird, but the carbs are synced nice and the thing pulls clean all the way up. Ended up doing like 60 miles when I told myself I'd just do 10. You know how that goes. Only issue is a little oil weep from the valve cover, nothing major, I'll reseal it this weekend. But honestly there's nothing like that first ride after a rebuild. The smell, the sound, the vibration. Makes all the busted knuckles worth it. Anyone else get their project out yet this spring? |
