Now that you know why you want to be a social business, you're probably also curious how to achieve those great results. Selling on social media primarily requires a social CRM. This consists of eight building blocks.

Vision : Do social media and collaboration fit in with the organization's vision regarding how to interact with customers?
Strategy : Does the company have customer-level objectives rather than just focusing on financial targets?
Organizational collaboration : Is there collaboration within the organization when it comes to the use of social media, rather than a few people being responsible for it and the rest not getting involved?
Customer experience : Are your customers looking for interaction via social media?
Customer processes : Is it clear where social media can add value to the  accurate cleaned numbers list from frist database organization? Consider service, marketing, and sales processes.
Technology : Does the organization have social technology, such as CRM software that integrates with community management, webcare solutions, and other monitoring software?
Information : Does the organization have data and information that adds  value and improves the customer experience?
Statistics : Does the organization have clear KPIs and insight into statistics?
If you can answer all these questions, you can leverage social selling. This consists of three components: social media, knowledge sharing, and engagement. If a social organization shares knowledge on social media and continuously engages its contacts, this will generate sales.

However, this starts with carefully listening to what's being said online about the organization or product, so you can respond effectively. With social selling, it's crucial to be relevant, have an impact, and engage with your clients at the perfect time.

Create a social media strategy
When you collaborate with your staff to implement social media marketing and social selling, it's helpful to have a clear strategy. This way, everyone is clear about the brand's message and how social media should be used. You can also provide your staff with guidelines on what they can and cannot post online about the company.

The social media strategy consists of 10 steps:
The why : clarifies why the organization wants to use social media. And no, not "because the competition is doing it too."?
Listening and baseline measurement : by first conducting research, you can then take relevant steps. For example, look at what your competitors are doing online, how much and what is being shared about the organization and the product, and who the influencers are in the industry.
Social SWOT analysis : create a SWOT analysis of internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats regarding social media.
Define mission and strategic direction : What do you want to use social media for? Consider service, exposure, expert status, experience, leads, or sales.
Target audience : Who do you want to reach, and where are they online? And especially: what role do they play online? For example, are they someone who creates their own content, someone who primarily posts reviews, or someone who simply browses and doesn't actively participate?
Goals : What's the purpose of using social media? Do you want more reach, interaction, co-creation, website traffic, leads, reviews, ambassadors, or to learn more about your target audience? Make sure you set measurable goals for this.
Channel selection and social media tools : determine which channels you will be active on.
Social media campaign and content marketing : make sure you know what kind of content you're going to share and how you're going to engage in conversation.
Measurement, analysis and feedback : how will you monitor the goals set?
