Just got my 83 Goldwing back on the road after a top end rebuild and Im itching to take it somewhere proper. Been reading about the Blue Ridge Parkway and it looks unreal, 469 miles of curves with no trucks allowed. My worry is the old girl has 90k on the clock and Im not sure about all those elevation changes. Anyone here done it on a vintage bike? Wondering about gas stops too because I think I get maybe 35 mpg loaded down. Also is it true the whole thing is 45 mph? Not complaining, just planning. Would love to hear from anyone whos ridden it, especially if you did it on something that wasnt brand new. Tips on campgrounds along the way would be great too, trying to do it cheap.
