On AI being a 'manageable risk' why should we apply energy and intelligence into a robot or AI when it is risky to do so? The world or the academia should invest in solutions to solve development obstacles rather than create solutions alongside risks. It does not make sense. AI is dehumanising and disconnecting people more than it should. Every human now has a personal AI gadget. Sad

Regarding Climate Change: The characteristic of Climate Change is its' relatively stable cycles of changes over millennia. AI would not limit its' scope over the relatively short time span of hundreds of years, unless forced to. The previous Interglacial, the Eemian, was substantially warmer than now with only 290ppm CO2, and authoritative sources point to evidence of much higher Sea Levels then. So, AI would not tie Global Warming (and climate change) to CO2, or claim it's worse now than ever.

What I wanted to say is that I sometimes feel that the world is going crazy and doesn't make sense. A lot of people can barely make ends meet and there may not seem to be any apparent solution. It doesn't make sense that a lot of people would say that they want to learn advanced math, but that they don't think they need to know about things like the Pythagorean theorem. Furthermore, I feel that the basic knowledge taught in school is unfairly ridiculed. My idea to solve this is that maybe jobs could be made available for people who actually learned in school. If there were jobs for people who learned in high school, then I think fewer people would criticize the basic knowledge. Once fewer people criticize basic knowledge, then hopefully the knowledge levels of the population would increase, and then it might even be possible for basic computer coding to be taught to everyone who goes to high school! As knowledge increases, so too would productivity and scientific achievement!

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is set to dramatically change how humans interact with technology, how we express ourselves, communicate and engage in a new world order. The potential to use technology to reshape and improve all aspects of our lives through artificial intelligence, big data and all other forms of transformative technologies is immense. At the same time, the use of mechanisation and artificial intelligence has the potential to vanquish jobs as we know it today and to deepen inequality in an already divided society. The issues related to human rights and the ethical, legal and moral matters pertaining to ‘sentient beings’ are worthy of exploration.
