Seen a few threads pop up about this so figured I'd share what's worked for me over the years. The big ones people mess up are fuel and battery. Fill the tank right to the top to keep condensation out, add stabilizer and run it through the carbs or injectors before you park it. Pull the battery and keep it on a tender inside if you can, cold garages kill them.
Oil change before storage, not after. Used oil has acids in it that sit there eating at bearings all winter.
Fog the cylinders if it's going to sit more than a few months, especially on carbed bikes. And don't just let it idle for ten minutes once a month thinking that helps, that's the worst thing you can do. Either ride it properly or leave it alone.
Also throw a cover on it but make sure it breathes, those cheap plastic tarps trap moisture and you'll find rust in spring. Block the tires off concrete too if you've got the space.
What's everyone else doing?
